Our vision: The aim of the Sandwell Drug and Alcohol Partnership (SDAP) is to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to users, families and communities in Sandwell.

Our mission: To work with the people of Sandwell to:

  • raise awareness of drug and alcohol misuse
  • offer help and support
  • prevent drug-related deaths and infection by blood-borne viruses
  • reduce drug and alcohol-related crime and reoffending
  • help people into work and to keep jobs
  • help people find and keep suitable housing
  • improve health and wellbeing
  • help people improve relationships with family, children, partners and friends

Understanding drugs & alcohol

Many people drink alcohol, and in the most part, it does not cause problems. However, heavy drinking or alcohol misuse can lead to a range of problems. In the short term, alcohol misuse contributes to weight gain, depression and raised blood pressure.
